Botox is the most popular cosmetic injectable in the United States and around the world. It’s true! According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, millions of Botox injections are performed each year — and for good reason. This potent injectable can help reduce signs of aging such as wrinkles, facial lines and creases, and stop the signs of aging from developing in the future, without the need for plastic and reconstructive surgical treatments.

Botox is also safe, minimally invasive, works quickly, lasts awhile (but isn’t permanent like other cosmetic treatments), is an outpatient procedure and improves facial appearance. So, can you see why it’s in high demand? Read on to find out more about Botox and why it is right for you.

    Dysport®, the newer, better Botox®

Laughing, smiling, frowning and squinting are things you do every single day. These actions are natural facial expressions that represent your moods and feelings and seem harmless enough – until they contribute to the formation of lines and wrinkles on your face.

To resolve this situation, minimally invasive injectable solutions can work as muscle relaxants and prevent the muscles of the face that allow you to make facial expressions from contracting, leaving the skin wrinkle-free and you with a more youthful appearance.

We offer patients an array of minimally invasive treatment options to help reduce and/or prevent the appearance of things such as wrinkles, fine lines and creases.

One of these treatments is Dysport, an FDA-approved form of the neurotoxin Botulinum toxin type A (think Botox) injected into the face to temporarily reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles.

Read about different injectable endotoxin products that reduce muscle activity and relax facial frown lines and smile lines. These are products for both men and women. You can be confident in the professional service of Dr. Peterson, a board certified plastic surgeon who will personal administer your injection therapy.

These treatments are all in-office procedures that can be done during your initial consultation appointment. Treatment is usually less than 15 minutes. All endotoxin injection procedures can have redness and bruising as a side effect that should resolve in a short period of time. We recommend that you discontinue use of non-steroidal medicines such as Ibuprofen, Aleve and aspirin as well as supplements such as ginseng, ginkgo, green tea and fish oil one week prior to injection to minimize any potential bruising.
