Brazilian Butt-Lift

While procedures such as breast implants, liposuction and tummy tucks are popular for women who want to improve their shape, buttock-enhancement procedures have also increased in popularity in the last decade.

Buttock-lift procedures can reshape the buttocks and can give you the curves you want, a better fit for your clothing and more self-confidence about your body.

Dr. Peterson offers patients seeking to improve the appearance of the buttocks two options:

Buttock-Lift: The buttock-lift procedure, also called a gluteal-lift, is typically ideal for individuals who have lost buttock volume and/or tone and have sagging or loose excess skin in the buttock region. Common causes of this include aging, significant weight fluctuations, massive weight loss, prolonged sun and genetics. Learn more about the surgical buttock-lift here.

The Brazilian Butt-Lift (BBL): The BBL is a fat-grafting procedure designed to use excess, unwanted fat from another body area to add volume and shape to the buttocks.

If you want to feel great about how your butt looks, Dr. Peterson can help. As a board-certified plastic surgeon, his skill and experience in performing the butt-lift procedure have helped many men and women feel confident about their bodies once again.

What Is a Butt Lift?

A buttock-lift is a plastic surgery procedure in which the buttocks’ shape and fullness are improved. The procedure can be surgical, non-surgical (fat transfer BBL) or a combination of the two procedures.

Why Have a Butt-Lift?

If you do not like the size and shape of your butt, you may have feelings of self-consciousness about your body, how your clothes fit and how you feel in romantic situations. In many instances, if your butt is out of proportion with the rest of your body, it can impact how your shorts, jeans, skirts and swimwear fit, which can further contribute to negative feelings about your shape.

The butt-lift can correct problems with your buttocks and even out, enhance and bring symmetry to your buttocks. It can also improve roundness, fullness and firmness to bring you a confidence boost, improve the fit of clothing, and help you both look and feel great.

How Is a Brazilian Butt-Lift Performed?

The BBL procedure requires general anesthesia. During the treatment, Dr. Peterson uses liposuction to remove unwanted fat from another area of your body, such as your hips, stomach and thighs.

After liposuction, fat is separated from blood and tissue and prepared for injection into your buttocks. Dr. Peterson will make several incisions around your buttocks and inject the fat.

These injections are strategically placed in specific areas to give your buttocks a more rounded, fuller look.

After your injections, all liposuction and fat-transfer incisions are closed up with stitches, and a compression garment is placed on the treated area to help minimize your risk of bleeding.

What Are the Benefits of the Brazilian Butt-Lift Procedure?

Unlike other forms of buttock surgery — including silicone buttock implants — the BBL procedure offers you more natural-looking results while simultaneously giving your bottom a more rounded appearance.

The Brazilian Butt-Lift is effective and works by using your body’s natural healing response to trigger collagen production, providing lift and a more shapely appearance.

The BBL can:

  • Improve the curves of your lower body.
  • Reduce pockets of fat in your hips, thighs or abdominal area.
  • Add fullness to the buttocks.
  • Help clothing fit better.
  • Give your buttocks a more youthful appearance and more youthful, aesthetically pleasing shape.
  • Improve balance between your upper and lower body.
  • Enhance your overall proportions by improving the balance between your upper and lower body.

Am I a Good Candidate for a Brazilian Butt-Lift?

Ideal BBL candidates want to improve the buttocks’ shape and size but want to avoid implants, and they have realistic expectations about the procedure, recovery and results. They should also be in good health.

Dr. Peterson will examine the skin tone in the buttocks area to ensure that the procedure is right for you. He will also make sure you have adequate fat stores in other body areas to harvest for injection into the buttocks.

Can I Combine the BBL With Other Procedures?

As we mentioned, many people combine their Brazilian Butt-Lift with other body-shaping procedures to achieve their body goals. Are you interested in combining procedures? We’d love to talk to you about your goals for plastic surgery and how we can help.

In many cases, BBL patients choose to combine their procedure with an abdominoplasty tummy tuck to improve overall shape and curves. The tummy-tuck procedure is a surgical procedure designed to remove excess skin and tissue from the abdomen. Another combination that many people choose is liposuction to remove unwanted fat from the buttocks or thighs.
