Sick of Squats?

Squat all you want, if you’re looking to give your booty a boost, you may want to consider a surgical buttock lift. The butt lift procedure improves the appearance of the buttocks by removing excess or sagging buttock and thigh skin and tissue that occurs because of aging or genetics. Some patients who have experienced a significant amount of weight loss often also experience sagging and drooping of their derriere. Dr. Peterson performs the surgical butt and thigh lift procedures on patients who are looking to tone their tush.

The buttocks can be a hard to tone area mainly because they, along with the stomach, are spots that usually store fat. For some individuals, it doesn’t matter how much they work out, they have a large amount of stubborn fat covering their gluteus maximus muscles, the main muscles that lend to a shapely behind. For these folks, it doesn’t matter how many squats they do, they will never see the results they want.

During the surgical butt lift, incisions are made in the natural fold of the leg where the buttocks meet the thighs. Excess skin is removed, and remaining tissue and skin is lifted to a new, higher position. By lifting and tightening the skin of the buttocks, the lift also smooths out wrinkles or dimples. The result is a tighter, firmer appearance and smooth skin. Some patients even combine the surgical butt lift procedure with liposuction to remove unwanted fat.

The buttock lift procedure is done under local anesthesia and the procedure takes about two hours on average to complete. Patients will have to wear a compression garment for several weeks after the procedure and will be on a reduced schedule for exercise and heavy lifting. After the procedure, patients must take care to sit on an inflatable pillow to reduce direct pressure on the surgical area. Patients should expect swelling and bruising for several weeks to several months after their butt lift procedure.

Most patients see their final results about six months after their surgery. Scarring does occur as a result of the procedure, but due to the location of incisions, are usually hidden in the natural folds of the buttocks.
