Summer Bodies Are Made in Spring

Summer brings a lot of things: higher temperatures, sunshine and summer vacations. But for some, summer brings feelings of dread, too. Dread over the fact that it is bathing suit, shorts and tanktop season. If that makes you cringe, you’re not alone. Many people feel the same way. But you don’t want to stay inside all summer, and honestly, you’re going to look silly wearing a sweatshirt at the pool. Instead of shying away from summer, embrace it confidently with a little help from Dr. Jack Peterson.

There’s Still Time

Don’t worry! There’s still time to get the procedures you want and be able to show off this summer. We suggest choosing minimally invasive services without long recovery times such as:

Liposuction. This body-sculpting procedure is the gold standard and least invasive way to get the shape you want. But remember, liposuction is not a weight-loss tool; it is a sculpting procedure designed to treat patients after significant weight loss. You can have liposuction and after a few weeks’ recovery time be ready to hit the beach.

Laser Hair Removal. Did you go off your normal shaving routine this winter and now the thought of getting rid of body hair makes you cringe? We’ve got your back – and your legs, arms and anywhere else you don’t want hair.

Laser Vein Therapy. While we are on the subject of lasers, did you know Dr. Peterson offers laser vein treatments to target unsightly varicose and spider veins? If you’re covering up because you’re self-conscious about your legs, we have options to help.

Dermal Fillers and Botox. The late spring and early summer are excellent times to get Botox and dermal filler injections. With these procedures, there is little to no downtime, no risk of scarring, minimal side effects and you can get back to your routine quickly. You can also get Kybella injections during these months, too, to help reduce neck fat.

During the summer, we suggest avoiding skin-resurfacing procedures like microdermabrasion and chemical peels. Why? These procedures remove the outermost layer of the skin to reveal new, fresh skin underneath. This new skin is very sensitive and is especially susceptible to sun damage.

Also, in the summer, you sweat more, which can make your new skin irritated.

Summer is just around the corner, but it’s not too late to get the body you want. Give us a call today at 785-234-9000 to talk about what minimally invasive and non-invasive treatments are best for you.
